No. Browsing reports and exploring the Interactive Map are fully public. You can read every report and view the map without creating an account or signing in.You do need an account — and a verified phone number — to submit reports, vote, or comment.
Phone verification prevents spam and ensures that each community member is accountable for the content they post. Once your phone is verified, you can submit reports, vote on existing reports, and leave comments. You only need to complete verification once per account.
You can create a Cora account with an email address and password, or sign up instantly using your Google account. Both options give you the same access once your phone number is verified.
After requesting a one-time passcode (OTP), you must wait 10 minutes before you can request another code. This applies both to the initial code and any subsequent resend requests. If you don’t receive a code, check that your phone number is correct and that SMS messages are not blocked by your carrier, then wait for the cooldown to expire before trying again.
You can attach image files in PNG or JPEG format. Other file types are not accepted. The upload UI targets about 4 MB maximum per image so the request stays within server limits — larger files may fail before submit.
Editing and deleting reports through the Cora interface is not currently supported. If you need a report corrected or removed, contact the Cora moderation team.
No. You can only flag reports submitted by other users. The flag option will not appear on your own reports.
When you flag a report, it is submitted for moderation review. The moderation team evaluates the flag against the community guidelines. You can choose a reason when flagging — options include misinformation, harassment, spam, illegal content, privacy violations, and off-topic content.
Push notifications may not appear for a few reasons:
  • Your browser blocked notification permission when Cora asked
  • Notifications are disabled for Cora in your browser or operating system settings
  • You are using a browser or device that does not support push notifications
See the Troubleshooting guide for step-by-step instructions on how to re-enable notifications.
Push notifications on Cora require browsers that support the Service Worker API and Push API. Modern desktop versions of Chrome, Edge, and Firefox support both. Safari on macOS supports push notifications from version 16 onward.Support on mobile browsers is inconsistent. Some Android browsers support push notifications; most iOS browsers currently have limited or no support for web push. If notifications are unavailable on your device, you will see a message indicating that your browser does not support this feature.
